Banner Ads are a graphic advertisement placed on a web page, which acts as a hyperlink to an advertiser's web site. Because of its graphic element, a banner ad is somewhat similar to a traditional ad you would see in a printed publication such as a newspaper or magazine, but it has the added ability to bring a potential customer directly to the advertiser's website. This is something like touching a printed ad and being immediately teleported to the advertiser's store! A banner ad also differs from a print ad in its dynamic capability. It stays in one place on a page, like a magazine ad, but it can present multiple images, include animation and change appearance in a number of other ways. There are no concrete rules about what makes a good banner ad. As in all advertising, an effective banner ad is the product of a number of different factors, and there is no sure way to predict how well any banner ad will do. A lot of successful banner ads are the result of extensive trial and error experimentation. You can make your own banner via a FREE online banner builder service as shown below.
Make sure you post banner ads on pages with related web content the more related, the better. Advertise a particular product or service in your banner, rather than your site generally, use simple messages rather than complicated ones. Your graphic content should pique visitor curiosity, without being too obscure.

If your using a different web authoring tool than stated above select the programs F1 help button.
Right click on the Banner and select the Make or Create Link option. Enter your website's address, example - http://www.freegeardesign.co.uk. Your banner is now ready to be displayed on your website.
STEP 3:It is highly recommended to to swap Banner links with other sites via your website, you can enter code for visitors to copy and add paste into their website. The code for this banner example is displayed below.
This code would simply be copied then pasted into the <BODY> tag of your visitors website.

The code needs to be displayed in a specific Text Area as shown above and not just directly displayed on the web page because when visitors copy the code and try to paste it into their web page it will also copy the formatting tags, thus not displaying the banner properly as shown below.
STEP 4:
Setting up your own code box isn't as hard as it sounds, simply get the required code, click here. Copy the code and paste it into the <BODY> tag of your web page.

STEP 5:
Change the web address and image source to your required location.

STEP 6:
Save and view your web page in your browsers.
